This ingenious and unusual 5 bedroom villa is a perfect cocktail of colonial elegance with state of the art design and is situated in the quaint surroundings of Batu Belig. Designed by the famed Hydrogen Design Group, the nucleus of this property is a restored Joglo from Kalimantan originally constructed in 1880 gifting the property not only its name but a certain historical and artistic prestige. We can safely claim that there is no other holiday destination in Bali, quite like this one.

Every inch of this villa whispers luxury and has been designed and furnished with unmitigated attention to detail, using the highest quality products and employing the most skilled craftsmen, resulting in a whimsical work of art. This house is a maze of quirky and subtle design features including airplane propellers fashioned into ceiling fans, bespoke door knobs and specially carved surroundings. Even the menu offered by the talented chef is a cut above the rest with sumptuous offerings like roast chicken with saffron and lemon and mussels in chilli and tomato sauce.

The entrance of the villa takes you directly into the lush planting of an exotic garden with a glittering salt water swimming pool. Beside this is an open plan, open to the elements living area in the style of an extensive, L shaped covered terrace. Here is the perfect spot to laze on the retro furniture, get a massage or soak up the tropical vibes.
The 4 king size bedrooms and an 8 bedded children’s bunk room are all contained within the 3 floors of stunning air-conditioned accommodation provided by the voluminous colonial house which sits to the rear of the site. Further to these chambers is a spa area with massage tables, showers and a sunken bath; a study and an interior living room. The first floor also has an extensive open terrace and BBQ area, with room for entertaining a party of 30 guests, making this house an ideal location for a fairy-tale wedding.

This unique villa has a full complement of well trained, helpful staff who will look after you during your stay and help facilitate any trips or outside services you may need. If you need a car and a driver, a renovated VW van is on hand providing an unforgettable way to tour the sights of this blissful island. Living areas

This property has a selection of indoor and outdoor living spaces all beautifully designed with bespoke attention to detail. The intricate carvings from the Joglo are reflected in the contemporary outdoor living area by the pool and futuristic, pre-programmed mood lighting can be employed during the twilight hours. Upstairs there is a large sitting room decorated with a modern twist on colonial style with comfortable sofas and a TV and DVD player creating a homely space to chill out in and watch movies in with your family and friends. Additionally, reached through the large patio doors from this room is a huge open air terrace with a BBQ and plenty of room to sit and survey the mature coconut trees which surround the house. Further to these areas, there are plenty of spaces on the vast terracing throughout the villa to sit and enjoy a few cold drinks in quiet reflection.

Accommodation

The master suite is located on the ground floor of the old colonial house and comprises of an opulent king size bed with canopy drapes that can be neatly stowed away in the fitted wardrobes. It features its own private, walled garden and has an extensive, exquisite ensuite with an outdoor bathtub and rainfall shower as well as indoor facilities.
On the first floor there are a further two large guest rooms that mirror each other in their terms of their style and dimensions. They both have luxurious king size beds with the same style of canopy drapes as the master suite and lavish indoor ensuite bathrooms. One of these is next to the children’s gleefully decorated 8 bedded bunkhouse and can be linked to it via the bathroom to create a practical and spacious family suite.
The final bedroom is to be found in the towering loft space of the Joglo and has a stunning white washed beamed ceiling. It features a king size bed and a beautifully appointed indoor ensuite.
All the beds have King Coil mattresses and are made with the finest white linens creating opulent spaces to spend your holiday nights. And to take care of your entertainment needs all have Satellite TV, DVD players and sound systems.

Staff

This stunning villa is served by a dedicated villa manager, 2 housekeeping staff, a butler and night time security. A daily complimentary breakfast is provided and further meals can be served from a refined set menu created by our talented, private chef who has trained at Sardine, one of the most renowned restaurants on the island. This includes a number of fine dining experiences including a Balinese Feast and an Indonesian Experience as well as other options for the children.

Location

If you can tear yourself away from the delicious food at the villa and fancy an evening out, there are a number of good restaurants within an easy 5 minute stroll including Watercress, Hog in the Wild and Naughty Nuris as well as a number of small cafes and ice cream parlours. The house itself is set down a peaceful, leafy lane and is only about 10 minutes from the black sands of Batu Belig beach which offers some further food options and one of the best spots to watch the sun set to the chilled out tunes from the legendary 707. Heading one way, towards Canggu, there is a Pepito Supermarket, Desa Seni, one of THE places to practice yoga and about a kilometre away is the Canggu Club with all its amazing facilities. Seminyak, itself is about a 10 minute drive and offers the best shopping on the island as well as a number of fabulous restaurants and the infamous beach clubs Kudeta, The W and Potato Head.
