Villa Malaathina is a brand new, privately owned Villa, set amongst lush green rice paddie fields near downtown Seminyak, Bali.
Malaathina opens fresh horizons for an elite lifestyle on one of the world’s most famous tropical islands. The villa is conveniently located 25 minutes from Denpasar airport and 10 min from the famous restaurants and boutiques and luxury bars of Seminyak. Malaathina also provides the perfect setting for birthdays, weddings, events, reunions and Yoga retreats. The peaceful setting allows you the option to sample the boutique bar and fine-dining restaurant scene, white sand beaches and other attractions provided by Seminyak, Ubud, Kuta and The Bukhit and then return to a relaxed ‘haven’ after your day out. The contemporary-designed estate features seven-bedrooms and occupies over 50 Are (5000sq meters). The villa is self-contained with a 25m swimming pool, private coffee shop, teppanyaki-grill dining area, indoor; air conditioned living, dining and bar areas, outdoor; living, dining and bar areas, media room, fully equipped gymnasium, dedicated yoga facility and sunset viewing veranda.
Malaathina provides an exceptional team of 20 staff headed by a Villa Manager who is most likely Bali’s finest and most knowledgeable. Our team also includes a talented and experienced Chef and driver.
About Us
Villa Malaathina is a luxury 5 star brand new villa near Seminyak, in the heart of Bali.
It was designed and built with love to create a private and secure haven to enjoy a holiday or special event with your loved ones. It boasts seven spacious bedrooms, gym, media room, coffee shop, three bars, two dining areas, teppanyaki featured separate room, an Olympic-size Swimming Pool, five living areas, inside and out and a purpose-built Yoga Sala for retreats held throughout the year.
It’s proximity to the renowned boutique shops of Seminyak, it’s restaurants and world class beach venues coupled with the fact that the villa is set in a village with the feeling of real Bali, with it’s rice fields, rustic lifestyle and quiet community – sets Malaathina apart from the rest.
Our villa is privately owned, which means attention to detail in all aspects of a refined and world-class villa is paramount. The owners are well-travelled professionals who have incorporated the essence of each continent and wrapped it into a blissful package to be experienced and shared with your loved ones.

Retreat
The Seventh Seal is a new signature retreat, held at Villa Malaathina, that offers a unique blend of Eastern wisdom and Western psychology combined, over seven days, with a daily practice of yoga, meditation and breathing techniques as well as a daily Massage to rejuvenate and de-stress.
Our goal is to teach you ancient and modern practices that will heal and enrich your life and that you can apply and do by yourself at home.
We intend to give you the tools that will become part of your lifestyle, to be at your optimal potential via mental, physical and spiritual realms.
Our concept is to provide a haven away from your life, even if for just one week, and to teach beginners Yoga in a relaxed and unpretentious environment to those that have not tried it before or those who prefer intimate groups to learn in rather than your quick and busy city studios.

We try not to take yoga too seriously in technique but still deliver the advantageous qualities of the journey of self-discovery. Our teachers are inspiring and talented, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and the mood is playful. Our doors are wide open for every body to experience the wonderful benefits that practicing yoga provides.
Suites
Villa Malaathina has 5 suites that are enhanced by rich wooden floors and bordered by tasteful marble. Some suites also have pitch style roofs creating space and the ambience of a tropical villa with a modern twist.
All suites are created with a great focus on space. They contain; a living area fully fitted out with large plasma TV, DVD player, Bose sound system, and iPod docking station. Each King size bed is of the highest quality from King Koil and all linen is white and fresh. Our pillows especially get a great wrap from guests!
Some suites can transform into a ‘twin share’ style rooms allowing friends to share in the same comfort as master bedrooms.
Each bathroom is extra spacious and includes twin vanities and an indoor, above ground bathtub. All finishings are of the highest standard.
The combined bedroom and living area also features a writing desk with large windows that looks over the lush rice fields of Bali. All open to a private terrace furnished with day beds and shaded areas.
Deluxe rooms
The two further bedrooms to complete the villa are beautifully designed with simplicity as its focus. Guests are awarded all the benefits of the other rooms including all media facilities. These rooms are perfect for queen, twin share or children.
Indoor Living
It is rarely available, in Bali, to have a fully air-conditioned wing housing a dining, bar and living area. This is the perfect set up for guests who prefer being in the comfort of air-conditioning throughout their trip. Eating and relaxing in the comfort of a cool room is easy at Malaathina.
The aspect from this wing still allows you to see and be connected to your family or group and the 3-meter glass doors allow for easy access to the pool, grassed area and the rest of the villa.
The dining room table, inside, seats fourteen and is made from ‘petrified wood’, which is thousands of years old. The table can be dressed up for a special dinner or lunch and is set with candles and soft lighting every night. The beautiful modern Indonesian artwork and dramatic maroon feature wall is warm and inviting. Many memories can be made here with the table design allowing for full view of each person seated at the table.
The inside bar is created around a lush ‘onyx’ bar. The Onyx marble bar is backlit to enhance the natural stones beauty at night. The resulting feeling of the onyx and the furnishings is a cocoon space perfect for pre-dinner drinks and a place to gather after dinner. The staff make a mean cocktail too!
The living room is plushy designed with strong elements of silver and black themes. It is the perfect space to relax pre or post dinner and for reading or meeting space during the day. You could be anywhere around the world in this room, think New York or Paris!
Outdoor Living
The outside area represents Bali living. All shaded, but open on all sides, the outside living is usually the heart of the villa.
Meeting for breakfast at the round table, which allows for the best community feel, lazing around the wide sofa area or sitting up with your laptop at the bar are all day-to-day uses of this space.
The colours and decorations of this area create a sense of immediate peace. Copper lighting and raw wooden features on walls strengthens the natural beauty of the environment. The whole area is an oasis and connection point.
Gym
The gym is fully equipped with the latest machines from ‘Life Fitness’. It has a running machine, cross trainer, bicycle, free weights, boxing ball and other weight station machines.
The Bose system and IPOD dock are also available to play your motivation music. The gym has it’s own bathroom facilities attached.
Coffee shop & Library
This is a special feature of Malaathina! The coffee shop was born of the idea to have a ‘stand alone’ room that could be used, by all, as an extra chill out room. It has several seperate areas inside with the living area orientated around the TV.
This room also has something that no other villa has in Bali. It has cable TV! Perfect for those who love their AFL and also all other known channels from around the world. Cable is only installed in large bars around Bali, so this is the only villa that offers all the luxury of cable, a stones throw away.
It also has an area for cards or meetings up to six people. A further area for board games and many window niches scattered around the room to curl up with a book.
The bar in the coffee shop is fully stocked. It also serves up coffee, milkshakes and beverages without moving too much.
The Teppanyaki Bale
What an original idea for a villa! The Bale is set directly across from the luxury pool. It allows for people to relax in the shade and be connected to people sun baking or swimming.
The wide couches, with plenty of cushions, are perfect for reading, talking or snoozing. You can enjoy snacks and drinks here but more importantly for lunch and dinner can experience the magic of a special meal around the Teppanyaki.
The special purpose built Teppanyaki grill is housed within a large piece of green marble. The grill is German made and custom designed for the Villa. Our chef will go to the seafood market on the morning of your choice and gather fresh lobster, king prawns, whole fish, scallops and sushi grade tuna and meats to marinade and prepare for your Teppanyaki.
Previous guests have loved this fun and memorable activity and it’s great for kids too. While you sit back and enjoy your friends and family, a fresh, delicious and healthy meal is cooked before your eyes!
Please ensure to alert our Chef 24 hours before wanting to have a Teppanyaki lunch/dinner for preparation and top quality ingredient gathering. A treat not to be missed!
Sunset upstairs terrace
Bali has the most spectacular sunsets and which are best when it is overcast. The colours and the hues of light are breathtaking.
Perched on the upstairs walkway, that connects the living areas, are three gorgeous shaded and lushly cushioned cocoons, perfect for sunset drinks or cocktails.
The view from the landing affords you unobstructed 360-degree views of the sky and also allows a vista over the rice fields and villages near by. The villa affords the best of two worlds, the lush green of Bali as well as proximity to cosmopolitan Bali.
Yoga and Meditation Sala
The Yoga room is naturally decorated and exudes serenity and peace. It’s a nice place to continue your yoga practice or respite area to enjoy a meditation. It is a multi purpose room complete with mats, bolsters and blankets.

Malaathina’s staffing is exceptional. Like any 5star hotel, Malaathina has a full hospitality management team. We have 19 staff to make your trip effortless.

Villa manager – Pak Dede
Dede is extremely ‘well connected’ in Bali. He has been in hospitality and VIP services in Bali for his whole career. Dede is very comfortable with large groups and wedding organization. He is the ‘go to person’ for all our guests and the villa owners.
Chef – Pak Ketut
Ketut is the villa chef. His years of experience in hospitality, hotels and private restaurants positions Ketut among the very best in Bali. His ability to design menus from balinese, western, italian to japanese cuisines and keep it fresh and interesting is unbelievable! He cooks a mean teppanyaki too, straight from the fresh fish market.
As Malaathina is also a recognized retreat centre for yoga and meditation, Ketut has spent a considerable amount of time researching ‘healthy food’ and detox menus. He is assisted in the kitchen by Koman.
Housekeeping
Our housekeeping department is made up of 4 people. They attend not only to your room but are an integral part of keeping the villa so beautiful!

Gardners
The villas two gardeners do an outstanding job at keeping the environment fresh, clean and cared for. The landscaping at malaathina is well thought out and allows for many knooks and cranneis to have quiet time.
Security
The villa has a security guard on duty 24/7. The department is made up of 4 security guards trained and well groomed to be the villas first impression. Your privacy and protection is paramount at this villa.
Maintenance men
The villa has two resident engineering men. They are on call 24/7 within the villa for any maintenance needs. So your stay at the villa is smooth sailing from beginning to end.
Driver
We have a full time driver available for your stay. He is knowledgable about places of interest and can advise you on tours you can do while visiting Bali. He will take you to spa appointment, take you shopping or to any destination.
Dining Experience
Malaathina’s kitchen, like all kitchens, is the heart of the villa. Nourishment, colours for your senses and inspiration is cultivated in this space.
Ketut, our chef, prides himself on having his finger on the pulse as far as new and innovated menus.
When staying with your family of friends at the villa you can choose from a wide variety of al a carte menu or you can tell ketut that you will ‘leave it to him’ for lunch and dinner. It’s sometimes nice to take the choice out of eating and just ‘turn up’ to eat. In this case Ketut will cook a variety of dishes to share, each day never being the same.
This said you can advise him about dietary requirements for your group or individuals. It is up to you to want a variety of cuisines, just western or health conscious. The choice is yours!
The villa also has a custom built Teppanyaki bale. This is located near the pool. We highly recommend choosing a night to enjoy this theatrical lunch/dinner event with your loved ones. Ketut, with 24 hours warning, make a special trip to Bali’s fresh seafood market which supplies all the renowned restaurants in Bali. You choose: lobster, king prawns, scallops, crayfish, whole fish or sashimi-grade tuna seared. Australian beef and chicken are also available from our local butcher.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the open living area or inside dining room. All meals can be organized in the privacy of your room or outside your deck too. All groceries will be charged at cost price, plus a 10% surcharge.

Whether it is a wedding, anniversary, special birthday or just a party, the villa can organize all planning for you. The full time manager can organize catering, florists, celebrant and all the accessories to make the event a memorable one.
We take pride in being able to take an event from conception, planning, booking and creating all that is in your vision. We will take care of all your guests from arriving in Bali and providing a VIP airport service through customs to transportation and accommodation, sightseeing and group bookings at venues throughout your time with us.

If you are inclined to a pampering session (and who isn’t?) we have a variety of spas to cater for our guests. For professional spa treatments we can recommend for; massages, facials, nails, scrubs and wraps or the ultimate in indulgence – half or full day packages.
We can also organize a masseuse for each member in your group to come to the villa. The local spa also offers manicures and pedicures in the comfort of the villa.
Rates
All villa rates are subject to a 10% service charge and thereafter a 10% government tax.
Exclusive use of all the villa facilities, including private swimming pool and unlimited WiFi internet, and the services of its team of staff, including villa manager, housekeepers and night time security. Also included is use of a car (seats 7 passengers) and driver for 8 hours per day excluding petrol and daily breakfast.
