WELCOME TO VILLA DES SENS

An oasis of calm in bustling Seminyak, Villa des Sens is a spacious experience of Balinese luxury and the owners have created an extremely comfortable environment in which to relax and feel truly ‘at home’. This contemporary villa is built in a ’U’ shape around a tall traditional Balinese ‘Joglo’ and faces a sparkling 4m x 20m swimming pool.

Three beautifully appointed air-conditioned bedrooms, each with a king-size bed and en-suite facilities, a large lounge area with a mezzanine TV / video space and comfy seating everywhere, provides ample spaces in which to repose.

The villa has a fully equipped dining space, kitchen and bar and the living areas are surrounded by a mature garden and it sits in 1,000m² of land. Villa des Sens is a superb location for a family holiday, retreat with friends or as a base from which to explore Southern Bali.

POOL AND GARDEN

Surrounding the sparkling swimming pool is a mature garden with manicured lawns which are dotted with small statues and features a Buddhist-style stupa. There is ample space in which to play with the kids or commune with nature. The pool is 20 x 4m and comfortable sun loungers / daybeds are positioned on two sides of the shallow, ‘paddling pool’ entrance.

This area is 7 x 3m and ideal for splashing around with young children or for sipping a chilled beverage while maximising sun time, and is fronted by a small island containing a frangipani tree.

KITCHEN

Monolithic black granite slab worktops, stainless steel fittings and wooden lattice-work units give this modern kitchen a substantial feel. Built in appliances are of superb quality and the kitchen can be stocked at the request of guests. The villa attendants can be available to create your simple/Indonesian and serve for you.

Mineral water is available on tap and there is a fully stocked drinks fridge.

BATHROOMS

In three distinct styles, the bathrooms reflect the diversity of the bedrooms. Each is constructed from local materials; walls and floors of stone and polished concrete, marble and decorative mirrors. Huge baths are constructed from polished concrete and in the master bathroom, a bathtub shaped like half a shining black bean invites one to experience excessively long bath times.

Each has an open-air section and it can be delightful to shower under the stars or feel the raindrops on your body mingle with the steaming water from the rainwater showerheads.

The Master Bathroom has an indoor garden and a staircase leads to a secluded terrace which affords a great view of the surrounding rice fields.

BEDROOMS

The three air-conditioned bedrooms are airy and spacious, each with a sumptuously appointed semi-open air private bathroom with a bath and walk in shower and populated with exotic plants. Each has a distinct theme – different colours and selection of natural materials. The master bedroom has a 220 x 220cm bed, and the beds in the two other rooms are 200 x 200cm.

Well crafted, solid teak custom furniture complements a tasteful, sober style of decor and paintings on the walls. Of particular note are the delightful monochrome photographs of beautiful Balinese girls from renown photographers.

Each room includes a dressing room, flat screen TV, DVD player and satellite receiver and a personal safe.

SERVICES

STAFF

– Two villa attendants available for 8 hours daily from 8am to 4pm are responsible for housekeeping duties, breakfast preparation and providing assistance and services around villa and grounds. Upon request they will prepare Indonesian meals other than breakfast, one day’s notice is required.

– Security guards are on duty from 4pm to 6am to provide security and access control.

– A gardener maintains the garden and pool discreetly so as not to disturb our guests.

– On-call villa manager is available.

FOOD AND BEVERAGES

Upon request the staff are able to provide simple Indonesian food for lunch or dinner and beverage services for maximum of six guests.

We provide grocery-shopping service at cost price. The staff will present receipts as proof of purchase and cook lunch or dinner for you.

(* Extra cost is involved if you need the villa attendants to work more than 8 hours per day at IDR 50,000/hour/person.)

If guests have more sophisticated catering requirements or for a large number of people, we recommend contracting the services of an outside chef or kitchen. The expense for this service is borne directly by the clients although we are happy to recommend our preferred suppliers.

Should you have special dietary requirements, please notify kitchen staff.

Alternatively, there are hundreds of restaurants all within a 5 to 10 minute taxi ride, particularly along Jalan Oberoi and Petitenget area. Or delivery service where you can order your meals from.

LOCATION

Villa des Sens is located close to the heart of Seminyak in Southern Bali, but far enough away to avoid the hubbub of this busy region. Seminyak is currently the home of the most popular nightlife in Bali; the best restaurants and bars, clubs and, of course, world-class shopping. Within a few minutes’ drive are the renown restaurants; Métis, Sardine, Café Bali, Warisan, Rumours, Cocoon, The Hu’u Bar, Breeze at the Samaya and La Luciola as well as a host of galleries, spas, fashion boutiques and art and interior decoration studios.

The famous restaurant lounge Ku De Ta, which is the Café Del Mar of Bali, is less than 10 minutes away and is the perfect spot from which to admire the often-magnificent sunset over the Indian Ocean. Recently, Potato Head and W have sought to compete in this lucrative market offering a similar blend of great food, perfect cocktails and smooth tunes.

The villa is at the end of a cul-de-sac so there is no through-traffic noise. The Bali International Airport is only less than 30 minutes away and Echo Beach, Canggu also less than half an hour away. The famous temple of Tanah Lot and the sumptuous Nirwana Golf course, designed by Greg Norman,?are around 40 minutes’ drive. The renown artists village of Ubud, recently featured in the Julia Roberts movie, Eat Pray Love, is less than an hour to the north.
